Sometimes you can have everything you ever wished for at your nearest reach, ready to grasp and hold tight forever. And right when you think you have something forever, it gets ripped out of your hands just as quickly as it once fell there.
After this happens once, you start to set up walls; walls that barricade you from the real world and stop you from ever being able to feel the sting of the pain- the pain that once overcame the tingle that ran throughout your veins forcing you to admit that you were heart-broken. The walls can sometimes change you. They can change you into the person you never dreamt of being- helpless, vulnerable, lonely. And then you open your eyes, and you and your heart have turned to stone. Emotions run rampant but can no longer affect this new industrial heart. At this same moment, you wake up and have no clue how all of this happened to you- that’s when your heartbreak hits you as a memory.
It’s all a depressing story until you meet the person that jumps over your walls and invades the tiny life you’ve built alone for yourself. They make you fall in love with them, trust them, and as quickly as they came across the border, they leave you.
“And then you came along and changed everything…”
“Just stay okay?”
“Please don’t hurt me.”
“I love you so much.”
^ The words that become meaningless.
Your love, your touch, you, changed me forever.
How could I have let you have so much control over me?
